Iranian Embassy in Bonn ravaged by student group
Bonn
About 150 demonstrators smashed their way into the Iranian Embassy here, wrecking offices and injuring several people, including Ambassador Mehdi Navab. Damage inside the six-story building was extensive. The demonstrators represented the Muslim Students' Society and were protesting the execution of members of the Islamic leftist Mujahideen-e Khalq guerrilla organization by Tehran authorities. The Mujahideen leader, Masoud Rajavi, fled to Paris last week with ousted former President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr and vowed to fight to overthrow the government of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
Meanwhile, in Tehran, a bomb exploded near the office of Iranian President Muhammad Ali Rajai. Radio Tehran reported that at least 10 vehicles were destroyed by the blast outside a hospital near the government and parliamentary offices. Several people were killed. The radio said the Mujahideen-e Khalq was responsible.
