Boeing's latest, the fuel-efficient 767, rolls off the assembly line

The company's hopes, as well as those of cost-conscious airlines, are pinned to this newest addition to America's jetliner fleet. Advanced design, including improved engines and lighter, but stronger, materials, will enable the plane to get 35 percent better mileage per seat than the jets it replaces. Seventeen airlines have placed orders. Test flights begin in September.
