W. Berlin hit by wave of immigrants; ALSO OF A NOTE

* Social Democratic (SPD) maverick Karl- Heinz Hansen's latest defender is the Soviet press agency Novosti. Hansen was dropped by the SPD after the attacked Chancellor Helmut Schmidt for supporting new NATO nuclear weapons and arms-control negotiations. Novosti said Hansen's expulsion was meant "to silence those who decisively demand revision of the cala mitous NATO decision."
