If ever anyone deserved a vacation it must be Ronald Reagan. After changing the face of government economic policy in a matter of months, while jauntily weathering an assassination attempt, he can use a little ranch time.
Is he telling us something else, too? After all the years of punditry about the American presidency being too big a job for one person, maybe it is instead simply a job for a big person. If that job can be handled with a certain lack of strain, maybe anybody else's job can be also.
