A Taiwanese Air Force officer who defected to China this month has been made a deputy divisional commander in the Chinese Air Force, the New China News Agency said. Maj. Peter Huang Zhicheng, who flew to China in a US-designed F-5 jet, was paid a $370,000 reward for his efforts and appointed deputy commandant of an unidentified aviation academy.
