The Atlanta Press Club says it may appeal a ruling barring cameras from the October trial of Wayne B. Williams, charged in two murders in the string of 28 slayings that terrorized Atlanta for almost two years. A Fulton County Superior Court judge ruled that the "potential harm" television coverage of the trial might do to children outweighed public curiosity about the case.
The judge also pointed to Georgia legal rules that say trials may be televised only when attorneys for all sides agree. Mr. Williams's attorney opposes cameras in the courtroom during the trial.
