Iraqi Foreign Minister Sadun Hammadi says the United States has sent arms to Iran, the Iraqi News Agency reported. "The United States has declared since the beginning of the Iran [Iran-Iraq] war that it has been adopting a neutral attitude to it," Dr. Hammadi said, adding that on several occasions Iraq has received information that American equipment, spare parts, and arms were supplied to Iran. He offered no further details.
Last week deposed Iranian President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr said Israel had supplied arms made in the US to Iran. But Iran denied the charge, saying it was a propaganda stunt.
