Ford price increases lowest of Big Three

Dearborn, Mich.
Ford Motor Company said it has notified dealers that suggested retail prices on its smallest and largest 1982 cars will be about 5 and 6 percent higher than for 1981 models. The rises were generally below the steep across-the-board increases of 7.7 percent and 6 percent previously announced by General Motors Corporation and Chrysler Corporation, respectively, opening the door to a possible pricing war for the 1982 model year, which begins in about one month.
