Goodbye, Pompeii tours, hello, Mt. St. Helens

Busloads of tourists may be plodding through the volcanic devastation that surrounds Mt. St. Helens next spring. If all goes well with the US Forest Service plan to offer the tours, tourists will be among the first unofficial guests in the area since the May 18, 1980, eruption.

Calls for bids have been sent out to tour companies.
