Northern California begins flood cleanup

Northern California started cleaning up the aftermath of the worst rainstorms , floods, and mud slides in 25 years. The death toll rose to at least 25, thousands were forced from their homes, and damage has already been estimated at more than $100 million.

Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr. declared a state of emergency in the six hardest-hit counties in the area. Mud slides still sent homes crashing down populated hillsides Wednesday.
