The son of Polish Deputy Prime Minister Mieczyslaw Rakowski has applied to emigrate to Australia and could receive permission to settle there within the next two months, the Australian Embassy here said.
The son, Artur Rakowski, has been in hiding to escape publicity since it was learned early this month that he and his family had come to West Germany from Poland to seek a new life in the West.
