February 3, 1982
Washington
The automobile carrying Vice-President George Bush to work was hit by some kind of object Tuesday, but no one was injured, his office said.
Secret Service agents are examining the limousine in an effort to determine what hit the roof at about 7:25 a.m. as Mr. Bush was en route to work, according to White House officials. They said it might have been a rock or possibly a shot , and nothing had been ruled out.
Bush arrived at his office at his usual time after the incident, which occurred a few blocks from the White House.
