Judge refuses to block Marathon Oil takeover

A federal judge refused to block the $6 billion takeover of Marathon Oil Company by US Steel Corporation just two days before the oil firm's stockholders finally vote on it.

A minority group of Marathon stockholders had asked for a temporary injunction against the merger, contending the agreement denied them a fair price for their stock.
