Salvador guerrillas invite Venezuela to negotiate

President Luis Herrera Campins said El Salvador's guerrilla leaders have asked him to help negotiate a settlement to their country's civil war. He said a letter sent to him by the guerrilla leaders said they felt next Sunday's constituent assembly elections could be seen as a part of an overall solution to the country's problems.
