Former President Jimmy Carter has accepted a faculty position with Emory University, Monitor correspondent Robert M. Press reports.
Mr. Carter will give lectures and conduct seminars as university distinguished professor, beginning Sept. 1, according to Emory president James T. Laney.
With the appointment, it appears that Atlanta, not his hometown of Plains, Ga., will become the focal point of Mr. Carter's activities. He already has an office here and has indicated he prefers Atlanta as the site of his presidential library.
