In the time of decision

And when you come to where the roads cross and a decision must be made, do not return back to the place from which you came; be unafraid whatever doubts you might have. Let the new thoughts take over instead, feeling a clutch at the palate, the challenge of the unknown road. And you will hear what seems a shout of crowds, but it will be inside you, with the playing of a flute accompanying it, the florid blare of the trumpet at the gate of the city that lies ahead around the turn, in the young light.
