US urges more teamwork on nuclear waste cleanup

A government report has recommended a ''more unified and aggressive'' federal program for decontaminating facilities that use nuclear materials once those facilities cease operations. The General Accounting Office suggested that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission develop the nationwide program to help ensure public safety.
