Poll shows Goldwater Jr. not certain for the Senate

Rep. Barry M. Goldwater Jr.'s big lead in the California Republican primary for the US Senate apparently has collapsed. The latest poll by Mervin Field puts Goldwater in third place with 19 percent. San Diego Mayor Pete Wilson was on top (33 percent), and Rep. Paul N. McCloskey in second (21 percent).
