Soviet hunger striker Yuri Balovlenkov said Monday he would end his 42-day fast after being promised by authorities that he will be allowed to join his wife in the United States.
Mr. Balovlenkov is one of six Soviet citizens who as members of the self-styled ''divided families group'' launched a collective hunger strike on May 10 to press authorities to allow them to join their spouses.
