The Senate has already turned down funding for production of the MX missile, and it looks as if the House may also have the good sense to reject it. Certainly the American people do not want to waste billions of dollars on a weapon which does not have a credible basing system and whose survivability against a Soviet first strike remains in doubt. The administration has yet to demonstrate that the MX is a sensible idea.
