Two terrorist bombs hit Latin Quarter in Paris

Two terrorist bombs, one intended for a top adviser to President Francois Mitterrand, exploded in the Paris's Latin Quarter, wounding 16 people.

These were the third and fourth terrorist bombings in Paris in a little more than 24 hours. An Armenian nationalist group, charging that France had reneged on a promise of support, claimed responsibility for the first bomb.

Responsibility for the second explosion was claimed by the French Revolutionary Brigades, a right-wing group. The second bomb went off at an apartment house vacated three days previously by a presidential adviser, Regis DeBray. He had been singled out because of a previous link to international communism, according to the brigade.
