People's Temple victims to receive compensation

Checks for up to $360,000 will start going out next week to victims and dependents of people who died in the People's Temple incident in Guyana, court officials said.

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Ira Brown approved the distribution of the temple's remaining assets of nearly $9 million to 600 people.
