Lebanon asked the Arab League to postpone indefinitely an Arab summit meeting scheduled to be held in Fez, Morocco, league sources said.
Fourteen Arab League members, including the Palestine Liberation Organization , are in favor of convening the summit urgently. It was to examine the Mideast situation and particularly Israel's invasion of Lebanon, the sources said.
League sources said intensive efforts were being made to overcome Lebanon's objections and reservations of Arab hard-liners Syria, Algeria, Libya, and South Yemen about holding the summit in Morocco.
