Execution of convict stayed in Virginia

A federal appeals court judge Tuesday stayed the execution of convicted killer Frank Coppola less than nine hours before his scheduled electrocution.

Mr. Coppola refused to appeal a 1978 conviction for a murder he says he never committed. He said he wanted to die in the electric chair and end the hardship on his family.
