The Canadian government is seriously considering ''suspending'' negotiations for a treaty with the US on the control of acid rain, says Canadian Environment Minister John Roberts.
Monitor correspondent Rushworth M. Kidder reports that Mr. Roberts, citing ''foot-dragging'' on the part of the Reagan administration, said Tuesday ''it might be wise to put (the negotiations) in cold storage for a while.''
Damage to the Canadian environment from acid rain is widely viewed here as the single most pressing issue in US-Canadian relations.
