Israeli newspapers urge resignations for massacre

Israeli newspapers called on Defense Minister Ariel Sharon Monday to resign and take responsibility for the massacre of Palestinians in Beirut.

The Jerusalem Post called for the resignation of Prime Minister Menachem Begin as well as Mr. Sharon and army Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan. Like the other papers, it said that whatever the government does in the way of investigation, Israel will be scourged for not preventing the murders.
