Baking acorn squash

Baking small halved squash is an easy and pretty way to prepare this winter squash.

For a side vegetable dish, the center of the squash may be filled with brown sugar, honey, or maple syrup, and butter. For a more substantial dish, try the following.

Halve an acorn squash, remove seeds, bake at 350 degrees F. 30 minutes, cut side down. Fill each half with pineapple chunks and pieces of cooked ham combined, and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Cook another 30 minutes.
