Chicago Police Superintendent Richard J. Brzeczek said Thursday there is no connection between the death of a Philadelphia graduate student and the fatal poisonings of seven people who swallowed cyanide-loaded Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules in the Chicago area.
Earlier, Philadelphia police said the death of the Philadelphia man in April and last week's poisonings in Chicago were ''related.'' Police reopened the investiagtion when new laboratory tests on the Tylenol capsules found in the student's apartment revealed traces of cyanide.
Superintendent Brzeczek received the information from law enforcement authorities in Philadelphia.
