When Ma Bell gives birth, who names the young 'uns?

A host of new phone companies will form, thanks to the AT&T divestiture. A federal judge's order will result in much smaller independent phone companies. Congress will monitor the divestiture and may fine-tune the plan, which takes effect in 1983. Humorists in the halls of Congress already offer some monikers - with large tongues in spacious cheeks - for new regional companies: Liberty Bell for Mid-Atlantic states, Cow Bell for the Midwest, Buffalo Bell for the Plains states, and Taco Bell for the Southwest.

And for California? Tinker Bell - with apologies to Walt Disney!
