Iran penetrates border in fresh advance on Iraq

Iranian troops pushed six miles into Iraqi territory and captured a large amount of armor as last week's offensive in the 25-month-old Gulf war entered a new stage, the speaker of Iran's Majlis (parliament) said Sunday.
Asked if Iranian troops would advance on Baghdad, Hojatolislam Hashemi Rafsanjani said yes.
In Baghdad, the official Iraqi News Agency said Iranian forces had penetrated Iraqi territory to a depth of up to three miles and that the fighting was still raging
