City Supervisor Harry Britt said he has the support necessary to win approval of spousal pay benefits for homosexual and other unmarried partners of city employees.
A three-member committee of the governing Board of Supervisors voted to seek the unprecedented dependent benefits. In a separate action, the city's retirement board voted a cash benefit for the homosexual partner of slain supervisor Harvey Milk.
