US envoy Philip Habib began talks with Lebanese leaders last weekend in a new Middle East peace shuttle mission aimed at removing all foreign armies from Lebanon.
Habib met with Lebanese President Amin Gemayel and Prime Minister Shafik Wazzan in the presidential palace here. Habib's arrival Friday came as Lebanese authorities arrested 12 Muslim and Christian men from south Lebanon suspected of involvement in the September massacre of hundreds of Palestinians in two Beirut refugee camps, a government source said.
