Israel drops one objection to talks on Lebanon exit

Israel dropped a key demand delaying talks on withdrawing its forces from Lebanon, but apparently rejected a suggestion by US envoy Philip Habib to hold the negotiations outside Israel's disputed capital of Jerusalem.
At its weekly meeting Sunday, the Israeli Cabinet retreated from its previous call for ministerial-level talks, accepting a compromise proposed by Mr. Habib that lower-level officials head the delegations.
