Bulgaria invites Italian investigators to Sofia

Bulgaria denied accusations it was involved in the attempt to kill Pope John Paul II and invited Italian investigators to Sofia to probe alleged involvement by Bulgarian agents in the assassination attempt.
Official Bulgarian news agency director Boyan Traikov, told a news conference in Sofia that Bulgaria wished to cooperate with Italy in uncovering the truth behind the May 13 shooting in St. Peter's Square.
