Greece rocking the boat on Western foreign policy

Greece, due to assume the presidency of the European Community later this year, Tuesday repeated its earlier condemnation of Western sanctions against martial law in Poland and affirmed past calls for Palestinian self-determination.
President Papandreou voiced his criticism while addressing a conference of US congressmen and deputies from the European Parliament. Political commentators have predicted difficulties over Community foreign policy in the second half of this year when Greece, which has clear differences of emphasis from its partners , assumes the rotating Community presidency.
