Israelis report skirmishes with rebels in Lebanon

Palestinian guerrillas operating behind Syrian lines opened fire on Israeli positions in eastern Lebanon's Bekaa Valley Wednesday, Israeli military sources said.

There were no Israeli casualties and Israeli troops returned fire, the sources said. Israel has repeatedly warned it will hit back if Damascus allows guerrillas in Syrian-held territory to snipe at Israeli troops along the cease-fire line.
