Washington
Rep. Morris K. Udall of Arizona announced he will not seek the 1984 Democratic presidential nomination. He said it is too late to run an effective race and that, instead, he planned to enter the nominating convention as a favorite son from Arizona to have maximum influence in the party's choice. Udall ran second to Jimmy Carter for the 1976 Democratic nomination.
