Moscow mystery theater -- what's playing tonight?

Moscow theatergoers often don't get what they pay for, a Soviet newspaper said. Sovietskaya Kultura (Soviet Culture) said its mailbag was full of complaints from people who had gone to the theater expecting to see one play and found the performance had been switched without explanation. ''Imagine the situation of someone who goes to see vaudeville and ends up watching 'King Lear,' '' the paper said. The frequency of these switches was the result of poor discipline, it added, echoing a theme of Soviet leader Yuri Andropov.
