The European Community ended a two-day summit conference with a new appeal for a Middle East peace and an indirect warning to the United States about farm exports.
In a communique, the leaders made a strong attack on Israel's continued expansion of its settlements in the occupied Arab territories. Meanwhile, Chancellor Helmut Kohl of West Germany, who chaired the two-day meeting, said there would be hard talks ahead with Washington on the transatlantic farm trade conflict.
