Reagan: US might give USSR on ABM system
March 30, 1983
Washington
President Reagan suggested the US might give the Soviet Union any antiballistic-missile system it developed. That way, both countries could destroy all their nuclear missiles.
He said it was unthinkable for the two superpowers to continue to aim these weapons at each other, saying he thought a future president would be able to say: ''We are willing to do away with all my missiles, you do away with yours.'' Mr. Reagan gave this vision of a future free of nuclear fear in a question-and-answer session with reporters.
