A Kissinger PLO contact called a possible nettle

Henry Kissinger reportedly met last year with a senior offifcial of the Palestine Liberation Organization - and may have complicated the Mideast peace process.
The Washington Post said the former secretary of state met in Morocco with Ahmad Dajani, a member of the PLO executive committee. Dr. Kissinger told the Post he had no idea of Mr. Dajani's status. But this may have caused PLO leader Yasser Arafat to hold out hopes the US might negotiate directly with the PLO. This would reverse the policy, stated by Dr. Kissinger in 1975, which said the United States would not negotiate with the PLO until it recognized Israel's right to exist.
