Israel charged the US is trying to keep Lebanon from drawing close to Israel and rebuked Washington for begging Jordan's King Hussein to join peace talks. The charges came on the eve of the 27th meeting of Lebanese and Israeli delegations trying to effect an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.
