Salvadorean guerrillas claim significant victory

Leftist Salvadorean guerrillas captured an important military communications center and took hundreds of prisoners, the rebels' Radio Venceremos reported. Military sources said 45 guerrillas were killed in the fighting for the center, located atop a volcano in eastern Morazan Province. Military spokesmen could neither confirm nor deny the report by Radio Venceremos. It had said earlier that the guerrillas had taken positions near a place called ''the antenna'' on a rocky volcano and had pinned down military reinforcements with mortar fire.
