The Soviet Union launched a two-man crew into space aboard a Soyuz T-9 craft, the official Tass news agency reported. The two men will dock with the orbiting space station Salyut 7 and carry out a series of scientific and medical experiments. An attempt to send a three-man space crew to Salyut 7 on April 22 had to be aborted after their craft failed to dock with the station.
