Solidarity asks Poles to show support Aug. 31

The Solidarity underground has called for a two-hour nationwide demonstration Aug. 31 to prove that the banned union has survived martial law. The peaceful protests would mark the third anniversary of the agreement in Gdansk that gave birth to Solidarity.
