Human rights group outlawed in Uruguay

Uruguay's military rulers Wednesday night outlawed the Peace and Justice Service, the only human-rights group operating in the country. The Uruguayan office of the organization, headed by Argentine Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel, had actively promoted the country's first day of protest in 10 years of military rule Aug. 25.
