Bush meets East European leaders

September 19, 1983

Vice-President George Bush arrived in Romania Sunday from Yugoslavia for a two-day visit on the second leg of an Eastern Europe tour. Bush is scheduled to discuss international issues such as nuclear disarmament and the Middle East. The Romanians are also likely to raise such economic issues as Bucharest's desire for greater access for Romanian exports to American markets.

In Belgrade, Bush met Saturday with Yugoslavia's leaders and expressed continued American support to keep the nonaligned communist nation ''completely independent.'' Bush's 10-day, 7-nation tour also will take him to Hungary and Austria.
