Labor unrest threatens Belgian public services

Confrontation between Belgium's center-right government and labor unions worsened Monday as Belgians faced a new week of strike-bound public services. Public-sector unions in key sectors of state activity planned to extend strikes at least until today in their campaign against proposed budget savings on the state payroll.
