Equal Rights Amendment begins a new try in House

The Equal Rights Amendment, which expired three states short of ratification last year, has been approved by a House subcommittee and is slated for a House vote next week on its second time around. To become a part of the Constitution it must clear both the House and Senate by a two-thirds' majority and must be ratified by at least 38 states. It gained only 35 states by last June.
