Moscow announcer who praised Afghans is back

A Radio Moscow announcer who praised Afghans for fighting against ''Soviet invaders'' last May has been reinstated at the station, a spokesman said Wednesday.

Vladimir Danchev, who was dismissed and sent to a psychiatric clinic after his ''dissident'' broadcasts, has been given a new post at the English-language Radio Moscow World Service. ''He was ill, but now he has been cured,'' the spokesman said.
